In Ninh Binh, the lotus season starts quite early with delicate, pale-colored petals. Towards the end of June and the beginning of July, lotuses bloom vibrantly.

Lotus Liquor, also known as Hong Lien wine, starts with a light yellow color, which deepens to a dark brownish-yellow hue with longer fermentation. Hong Lien wine carries a subtle aroma of crust, and taking a deep breath reveals the gentle scent of lotus flowers. The taste is sweet, and mild, with a lingering aftertaste hinting at black tea.

Hong Lien wine is ideal for contemplation and tranquility, suitable for sipping like tea or for mixing in cocktails.

Hong Lien wine has an alcohol content of 32 degrees.
